What is Cotton?
Cotton is one of the most used fibres in the garment industry because of its abundant availability and benefits. It is a fibre that makes any garment comfortable and breathable; and is used in garments from basics to luxury products. But there is more than just one type of cotton available in the market. Let’s dive deeper into those types, and our choice of cotton.
How many types of cotton are there?
There are generally 3 types of Cotton: Normal cotton, Supima cotton, and Egyptian Giza cotton.
What’s the difference between them?
1. Cotton – Also known as upstate cotton, it is the most general strain of cotton known to man. It boasts a fibre length that is not very long compared to more premium types, making it a type of cotton that is comparatively lower priced. It is found in India, United States of America, Pakistan, and China, and commonly used for mass-production.
2. Supima Cotton – A strain of cotton grown exclusively in the United States of America, this strain of cotton is a much finer, strong and durable strain of cotton. This type of cotton is used in higher quality products and linen products because of its advantages.
3. Egyptian Giza Cotton – And lastly, our choice. This cotton is found on the bed of River Nile, Egypt. It’s considered to be one of the finest cottons known to man because of its super fine and long staple fibres allowing the garment to be superiorly soft and extremely durable. This cotton is used in premium products and other high end cotton blend products.

Grown on the bed of River Nile, this cotton allows us to create garments that are premium, soft, and durable.
What should you consider before choosing a type of cotton?
Before choosing a type of cotton, one must know what the use of this cotton would be, since that would dictate which type suits you the best.
If your requirement is essential or every day, then the usual strain of cotton is something that’ll be appropriate for you, for daily use and aggregated benefits. By doing this, you’ll also be saving a lot by buying a cheaper strain of cotton that fits your purpose.
If your requirement is more of a luxurious or premium kind, then you may want to get either of Supima or Egyptian Giza cotton. Although this would increase your cost of buying as compared to regular cotton types, what these strains will ensure is superior softness, exceptional quality, and durability.
